IPL / Photorejuvenation

We’ll help you achieve beautiful, radiant, and youthful skin with IPL / Photorejuvenation.

Many people want a clear complexion, but even with the most meticulous skincare, a skin free of blemishes can be difficult to achieve. Photorejuvenation uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. It can help reduce the appearance of many of the most common skin issues, including brown spots, melasma, broken capillaries and sun spots.

Photorejuvenation is a minimally invasive skin procedure that can also treat signs of aging such as wrinkles or age spots. There’s very little recovery time and few side effects, making it a popular procedure.

What can IPL / Photorejuvenation help with

  • to improve the look of your skin without undergoing a full surgical procedure
  • to reduce redness, brown spots or scarring on your skin
  • to reduce pore size, fine wrinkles and improve skin texture

    Additional Information

Photorejuvenation provides relatively long lasting improvements in skin quality and texture. It can be performed anywhere on the body and requires little or no downtime.

Some people may require several treatments before full effects become apparent. It may not work as well on tanned or darker skin tones.  And you will be required to stay out of the sun for a while after each treatment.

If you feel frustrated by the skin issues below, then photorejuvenation can be a good choice:

    • Rosacea
    • Hyperpigmentation (brown spots)
    • Wrinkles
    • Texture problems
    • Large, visible pores
    • Melasma
    • Excessive flushing
    • Freckles
    • Age and sun spots
    • Broken capillaries
    • Spider veins
    • Stretch marks

You could be a good candidate for this procedure if you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and down to earth expectations about this procedure

How is a ipl / photorejuvenation procedure performed?

Photorejuvenation uses pulsed light therapy to treat skin blemishes. Basically, a broad range of bright, intense light is shined on various parts of the skin. You will need to wear an eye mask to protect your eyes from the light. Your doctor will use an IPL device to press on the target treatment areas. The IPL device will emit a light that heats up collagen beneath the skin, encouraging the body to produce more of this beneficial protein. Enhanced collagen production can fill in fine lines or wrinkles on the face as well as some shallow acne scars. IPL technology also reduces flushing and discoloration on the skin.

Your physician may also suggest complementary treatments to help you reach your goal. The use of laser skin resurfacing or a chemical peel in conjunction with photorejuvenation can sometimes provide the best result.

Photorejuvenation can cause mild discomfort. Many patients liken the feeling to the sting of a rubber band being snapped against the skin.

In addition to traditional photorejuvenation, some patients may opt for what is known as ELOS (electro-optical synergy), which combines basic IPL technology with high intensity radiofrequency.
