Spider and Varicose Veins range from small to large, raised, swollen blood vessels that twist and turn. They can appear to be red, purple or blue and are often found in the legs and face. Some people experience painful symptoms such as swelling, throbbing, aching, burning, itching, heaviness, tingling or cramping. Causes include genetics, strenuous jobs requiring excessive standing, obesity, hormonal fluctuations, blood clots and other medical conditions. Laser treatments are known to use light as a method to penetrate the veins to make them collapse and be less visible. Radiofrequency uses heat to do the same. Talk to one of our experts to find out which treatment will benefit you the most.

What is a Sclerotherapy Treatment?

Sclerotherapy, treats small spider and large blue-green reticular veins. This procedure is a minimally invasive injection and performed by a physician.

Sclerotherapy is the “gold standard” of spider vein care.  It is a safe and permanent removal that may be more effective than laser treatments.
With sclerotherapy, the solution is injected with a very fine needle into the affected veins. It causes them to swell shut and close off completely. The procedure is brief, but you will remain in the office for up to 30 minutes afterwards to evaluate the results. You should expect to wear bandages over the treated veins as well as compression stockings. You are expected to resume normal activity afterward.

Repeat treatments may be necessary. Your doctor will let you know before you leave whether you need another treatment.
